Bro.Jerry Tyson moved to Opp, Alabama in the 7th grade where he graduated high school.  Growing up in a non - Christian home, Jerry still heard the Gospel many times before surrendering his life to Jesus Christ at the age of 9. By his freshman year of college, the Lord was already calling Jerry into fulltime vocational ministry. Jerry attended Mississippi College where he completed a degree in history with a minor in coaching. Jerry also played two years of college football before he gave it up to pursue opportunities in ministry.  Jerry graduated with a Master of Arts in Christian Education from Jacksonville Baptist Seminary in 2006. In August of 2022, Jerry celebrated 25 years in student ministry.
    Jerry has been married to his wife, Ashley for 20 years. They have two kids Kinston(16) and Kenna (15).  In 2018, they adopted three sister: Michaela(9), Mikenzie(7), and Lily-Kate(6). These three girls have been a blessing in so many ways. He enjoys supporting all of his kids in their extracurricular activities, exercising, playing sports, playing the guitar, and enjoying time with friends and family. The aim of Jerry’s life is to live life to the full hoping in turn to point others to Christ through his life and ministry. 

    As a student pastor, Jerry seeks to minister to all ages. He wants to meet people/students where they are at. He wants to love on them like crazy and point them to Jesus. His ultimate desire in ministry is to pour into people helping them become disciples of Jesus Christ.
